Adam's Blog!!
Adam Hince pastors the Young Adults of Syndal Baptist Church. Each week - he updates his blog and you can read it at www.adamhince.org . Often there are summaries of messages preached, extra notes or questions, info about coming Young Adults events ... and even sometimes just some thoughts on life!
For the next ten weeks at 6pm services, we'll be preaching our way through the Book of Acts. During that - there will be more regular posts about the messages each Sunday, as well as some reflections along the way from daily readings of the story. A reading guide for regulars at 6pm has been written by Kari Presant is is available from this coming Sunday night.
Young Adults :: Social Events …
Lots of new things are starting up for Young Adults in 2010. You can read more about what is coming up at www.adamhince.org (Adam's blog) and more will be shared on Sunday nights.
One change from 2009 is that each month there'll be a chance to have some fun and get to know other SBC young adults at some great social events. Program details are available now.
In August we have a HUGE event planned for ALL young adults at SBC. We're having a Formal Dinner, to raise some money for our Foodbank. On Saturday August 21, at the Mulgrave Country Club from 6pm - 11pm. Cost is $40 ... but that includes a three course meal, great entertainment and all money raised will go straight to Foodbank. Hope you can make it!! Email Adam to book a place (ahince@sb.org.au).
There are two groups for Young Adults to be a part of at SBC.
NEXT - is a group for all of those aged between 18-23. The leadership group is really committed to making sure that the events are fun, that there is lots of chances to meet and get to know other Young Adults and that the group has a sense of belonging that is really strong.

23Plus - is a group for all that aged over 23. The term "Young Adult" doesn't really have an upper limit in many ways... so nor does this group, so if you are in your 30s and not sure if you fit, you do and are most welcome! The leadership group is committed to making sure that events create space to get to know other young adults, whilst not overcrowding busy schedules with too many things.

The 2010 program for both groups is now available. Given the nature of the gen Y ... there is an element of flexibility to it - so please regularly check in at this website for the most up to date information. Send Adam an email (ahince@sb.org.au) for a copy of the years plan, or pick one up from Syndal.
Life Groups
Life groups are without doubt the BEST way to connect with other Young Adults at SBC. At the moment, we have groups that meet on most nights of the week.
We have space for people to join most of our groups - but on Wednesday night and Thursday nights there are more options.
To join one - send us an email and we will get you connected as quick as we can ... ahince@sb.org.au ... make sure you let me know what nights suit you, what sort of group you have in mind or any other things that you think would be important in us finding the best group for you.
We have a new group starting up especially for people aged 18-20 on Thursday nights ... with a BBQ and some more info coming up on Thursday Feb 25. For more info - email Adam soon.
Chinese Youth Fellowship (Cantonese) - early to late 20's
This meets weekly, usually on Friday nights at the church. For more information see our Chinese Youth program.
